Add music and keep your voice clear
EDIT A CLIP FROM FIRST CUT TO DOWNLOAD · PART 8 OF 8 · UPDATED 17 OCTOBER 2026
Add a track and turn your clip's sound down under it.
The Editor works on a laptop or desktop.
Steps
-
Select Audio to open the sound tools.

-
Select Music or a sound to add a track at the playhead.

-
Switch on Turn your clip’s sound down under it so your voice stays clear.

-
Go back to Audio and select Mixer to balance the music against your voice.

If something goes wrong
- Pick the track's block on the timeline to change it. Its own panel has the volume and the switch.
- A long track runs past the end of your clip, so the last part isn't heard. Drag its block or trim its edge.
- Sounds you add show up in Mixer next to your clip's own sound, each with its own level.
